How Baccarat cards and Points work
Points calculation in Baccarat is dissimilar from a lot of games. A distinct rule in Baccarat is that the highest score is 9. And the total value of a hand shouldn’t be higher. Here’s how the points add up and how the cards work.
- Picture Cards & Tens- picture cards and tens have a value of zero points.
- Other numbered cards- cards numbered from 2 to 9 are worth their face value.
- Aces-The ace has a value of one point.
- Adding Up Points- Once the points value achieves a double-digit. The 2nd digit will turn as the value of the hand automatically. For example, with this rule, 10 is worth 0. 11 is worth 1, then 12 is worth 2, and so on. Once the total points get 10, you only need to drop the first digit, then that will be the score of the hand. So a hand of a 6 and 9, that adds up to 15. It becomes a 5-point hand. Only a bet on the hand that’s nearest to 9 will win the game.
